These are tough little flowers! Today I celebrate the wildflowers – often quite tiny – that grow in the gaps: between the concrete path and the wooden fence, or through the fence, or in the poorest soil. These flowers shine their smiling faces and add their delicate colour for anyone who might bend down and see them. Inconspicuous and delicately beautiful, they grow in what we might think are scarce and neglected conditions. For them, they just grow. They grow because it is in their nature to. They are not fussy. Their life-force is tenacious and strong, and they keep growing and growing.
