Cold Coffee

The coffee isn’t strong, and sometimes that is good. But it has to be coffee. Tea won’t do. And for this reason : it must last me as long as my writing takes me, and still be drinkable!
Hot coffee turns to warm coffee , turns to iced. It is a good writing day!  The coffee is the table-rent, if you will. I can stay in this place, with the Muse for as long as the coffee lasts. And it can last a long time!
The tide leaves its mark as it retreats; beige rims of pointilist froth, down, down, down; each ring marking another ten minutes or so, or more.
The age of a tree marked in rings, the time of a writer marked in rings!
